In a bid to deepen their understanding of the evolving energy landscape, approximately 40 young professionals congregated at the Young Energy Professionals workshop hosted by Quintel on February 28th at RVO Zwolle. The event, centered around Quintel’s Energy Transition Model, provided attendees with a unique opportunity to delve into the intricacies of sustainable energy integration.
The Energy Transition Model, a flagship tool developed by Quintel, served as the focal point of discussions. Participants were divided over several groups representing the different sectors in the Dutch energy system. Afterwards the results of the sector groups were put together in the model to form a ‘YEPPE energy scenario’ (available via https://energytransitionmodel.com/saved_scenarios/16619). Conclusion: interaction and alignment between the sectors is crucial.
Hence, the workshop was insightful on the energy system as a whole and the ETM as helpful discussion tool. During the drinks participants could discuss further how we could overcome the problems seen in our scenario (i.e. 300+ blackout hours…).
